Chicago Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky (Ill.) drew fire from Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) on Wednesday when she dismissed the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline, suggesting the 20,000 jobs it could create were relatively insignificant in the scheme of the greater economy.

“Twenty thousand jobs is really not that many jobs, and investing in green technologies will produce that and more,” she said on Chicago’s WLS Radio Don Wade and Roma Show on Wednesday morning. “But I’ll tell you what, you know it seems to me that the Republicans would rather have an issue than a pipeline.” (She must be drinking that Hopium)

Coats, a vocal proponent of the project, which would transport oil from Alberta, Canada, to America’s Gulf Coast, swiftly responded in a separate interview on the same show later on Wednesday morning, suggesting Schakowsky has spoken insensitively.

“Tell that to the 20,000 people that woke up this morning and didn’t have a job to go to,” said Coats. “ ‘Well, these don’t really matter’ — I mean, this not only is jobs, this is less dependence on Middle East oil.”

“And here we have, you know, the president talking about becoming energy independent, but he turns down the easiest way to do that,” the freshman senator continued.

Unemployment 8.6%, It’s time for Mr. President to vacation of course

Yes people are still suffering unemployment at 8.6%. (this is not counting those who have run out of unemployment or stopped looking) So it’s time for President Obama to celebrate this victory of sorts by taking 17 days of holiday vacation in Hawaii. This president condemns the 1% Club but he acts like he is the 1% Club. He has taken more vacations than any other president in modern times. The Daily Mail has an article about the expensive jaunt to the islands.

But Wait There’s More

Next week, the president will be saving a few cents by hosting a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Harper has urged Obama to support an oil pipeline from western Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

But the Obama administration said last month it was delaying a decision on the project until it can study new potential routes that would avoid environmentally sensitive areas in the Midwest. The decision is expected to be delayed until 2013. Hey Mr. President, can’t you kick someones ass to get this done fast, executive order perhaps?… No vacation instead.

Quite the rush to find jobs Mr. President…..Oh yeah many are union jobs, but he has to pay off the environmentalists with this one…. 4,000 jobs are estimated to be created by this. And oh yeah, If we don’t move……China will step in to get the oil. How is those electric cars (highway golfcarts) selling? Just over 740 Chevy Volts have been sold.

I’m tired of looking for work, and finding the job ads dwindle each week while the politicians screw around.

I’m tired of the the politicians using the unemployed as campaigning chips and pointing the finger at everyone else except themselves.

I’m tired of President Obama being clueless and doing the same stupid stuff as the politicians using the unemployed as campaigning chips and pointing the finger at everyone else except himself.

People suffer, Politicians complain!

I’m tired of the Wallstreet protesters who are also clueless……go home and try to be productive. You will be eventually be sucked in to the leftist abyss who offer counterproductive solutions. Business fuels the job market like it or not, so get real not political jargonism.

As I have said many times before….. I FU#KING WANT TO WORK!

Obama “Are they against putting teachers (union) and police officers (union) and firefighters (union)back on the job? Are they against hiring construction workers (union) to rebuild our roads and bridges and schools?” Union jobs seem to be his only concern. Hey Mr. President there is a lot, I mean a lot of non-union workers out of work. In fact I would say a majority of the unemployed are non-union. WHAT ABOUT THEM….. or is this just union payback?

Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky has another government job dole out. All of which are either Union or government jobs. I love how politicians love to call things Corp…. I would rather have jobs from Corp-orations. Not everyone unemployed is union or looking for a government worthless job.

When government creates it creates messes we all pay for in taxes.

Rep. Schakowsky’s bill proposal outline for employment:

1. School Improvement Corps - Creates 400,000 construction and 250,000 maintenance jobs to fix American schools.

2. Park Improvement Corps - 100,000 jobs for youth between the ages of 16 and 25, to improve our nation’s parks.

3. Student Job Corps - 250,000 part-time, work study jobs for eligible college students.

4. Neighborhood Heroes Corps - 300,000 teachers, 40,000 police officers, 12,000 firefighters.

5. Health Corps - 40,000 health care providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and health care workers.

6. Community Corps - 750,000 jobs to do needed work in our communities, including energy audits and conservation upgrades, urban land re-clamation and addressing blight, public property maintenance and beautification, housing rehabilitation, and new construction.

7. Child Care Corps - 100,000 jobs in early childhood care and education.

Taking Advantage Of The Unemployed

Employers are calling all the shots. I just spent 2+ pays doing spec work for a potential employer for no pay. This is happening more and more and it sucks. Jumping through hoops and acting like trained seals. Testing and testing and testing with no response. You interview and send a thank you and never hear from them again. I’m tired of this all I want is a F-ing job. I just want to stop filling out application after application, tons of paperwork, private information going down the black hole of application land and not knowing who sees all this. I just want to put a gun to my head to make it stop…..but I am a coward.

After all this time President Obama has decided to form the “Department of Jobs”. Of course all this will accomplish is more people working for the government in Washington (for the politically connected of course) creating no jobs except union jobs because politicians need the union support and votes. Gosh Mr. President can I work for the Department of Jobs in Illinois? Please!

Depressed

Things are not getting better. Depression has set in and it is not a good feeling. I want to work and I want a job. That’s all I ever wanted and it now seems hopeless. And that means depression……that sucks!
